Riverside Medcical Center has been named a HealthGrades Patient Safety Excellence Award™ for the fifth consecutive year in a row. That distinction makes Riverside one of only three hospitals in Illinois and one of 59 hospitals in the nation to achieve this honor. If all hospitals performed at this level of Patient Safety approximately 218,572 patient safety events and 22,590 Medicare deaths could have been avoided as well as saving the U.S. approximately $2.1 billion in excess costs from 2006 through 2008.
