About this event

Giving birth is an amazing, life-changing event. This class is designed to help parents feel comfortable and confident with the birth process by learning what to expect during the labor, delivery and postpartum periods.

What You'll Learn In This Class

What to expect in the 3rd trimester
True and false signs of labor
Stages of labor
When to head to the hospital
Relaxation and comfort techniques
Labor support
Common medical interventions (including induction of labor, epidurals and cesarean birth)
Postpartum care for mom and baby

This class includes a tour of the labor and delivery suite from 6:00 PM - 6:30 PM. Please meet in the waiting area near the hospital gift shop for the tour to begin. The remainder of the class will be in Johnson Lecture Hall from 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM.

Cost: Free

When to attend: Best taken in the early 3rd trimester

What to bring to class: A notebook or phone for taking notes, any specific questions you'd like to ask, and wear comfortable clothing for participating in hands-on activities.
