Volunteer Your Time with Riverside Medical Center
Become a Riverside Volunteer!
Volunteers are an important part of Riverside HealthCare. That's why Riverside offers opportunities for service that accommodate the schedules of working adults, students and retirees. As part of the hospital team, volunteers complement the care delivered by professional staff by making sure that the needs of patients, families and visitors are met.
Our volunteers have an opportunity to serve in many different ways. We offer volunteer opportunities in clinical settings, customer service areas, gift shop, clerical support areas in both office and educational areas; just to name a few.
Anyone interested in joining our volunteer team needs to complete the appropriate application mail it to the address below:
Sherri Guertin, CAVS
When your application is received, a member of our staff will contact you with additional information, including an orientation schedule.
Applications for both adults and students are accepted year round; with the exception of students looking for to volunteer during the summer months only (see below). The minimum age to volunteer at Riverside is 15 years old. Any student interested in volunteering must commit to a minimum of 20 hours of service within a 6 month period.
2015 Student Summer Program
Although we welcome student volunteers year- round, Riverside offers both high school and college aged students an opportunity to spend their summer (June/July August) impacting the lives of others, while learning valuable skills in an healthcare setting.
Students who are interested in participating need to submit a Volunteer Interest Form. The application deadline to participate in this program is Friday, May 15th. We have a limited number of placements available, so serious inquires only, please. Students in this program need to commit to a minimum of 20 hours of service between the months of June and August. Applications received after May 15th will not guaranteed placement in our summer program.
Once the completed form is received, students will be contacted with instructions on how to proceed with orientation requirements. All students accepted into the program will be required to attend a mandatory training class (date TBD). The final step of the on-boarding process will be a one-on-one placement interview with the director to determine the students volunteer assignment and schedule for the summer.
