Riverside: What was your diagnosis and treatment?

Sharon: was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer. I received a course of chemotherapyevery three weeks for four months.

Riverside: How was your experience at Riverside?

Sharon: You need a lot of support to get through cancer and the staff was able to give it to me. They really seemed to care. Everybody at the hospital was very nice. I had a ton of questions and the staff and doctors were very informative.

Riverside: What led you to seek care at Riverside?

Karen: I had a mammogram come back with a suspicious finding. My doctor at the time encouraged me to get a second opinion regarding treatment. My husband and I chose Riverside because of its affiliation with Rush University Medical Center. My surgeon, Robert Brockman, M.D., came highly recommended from another surgeon we in Chicago.

Riverside: What was your diagnosis and treatment?

Karen: I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. My options were to have a lumpectomy followed radiation and chemotherapy or a mastectomy and breast reconstruction. I chose to have the mastectomy because I had two previous lumpectomies.

Karen: Comfortable, everyone was friendly. Everything went as good as it could possibly go under the circumstances. The staff treats you like of the family. They are truly concerned and care about you.
