February is National Heart Month

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States, killing an estimated 600,000 Americans each year. American Heart Month is a time to battle cardiovascular disease and educate Americans on what we can do to live heart-healthy lives.

Heart disease can be prevented. Riverside urges you to join the battle against heart disease and is proud to offer these events during Heart Month. Mark your calendar and spread the word today!

Heart Healthy Screenings

Put your mind and heart at ease with Riverside's heart health screenings, too. Riverside offers several screenings on a regular basis. Learn your numbers, know your risks and make sure every heart beat is as healthy one.

Good Heart Screening | $29

This screening includes a lipid profile (total cholesterol level, LDL, HDL, triglycerides and glucose), a blood pressure reading and a heart disease risk analysis. Walk-ins are welcome Monday-Saturday at the Bourbonnais Plaza and Riverside Medical Center West Campus in Coal City.

CT Heart Score Plus | $150

Measure the calcium or hard plaque in your arteries, which can ultimately lead to a heart attack. The CT Heart Score Plus also includes a CT scan, blood pressure, body mass index, total cholesterol, C-Reactive protein and homocysteine (new risk factors for heart disease) and a consultation with a cardiovascular nurse to explain your results. It is available without an order for men over 30 and women over 40. This test requires a 12-14 hours fast and can be performed at the Bourbonnais Plaza or West Campus in Coal City. Please call Outpatient Scheduling at (815) 935-7531 to schedule your appointment.
