Comprehensive Balance Testing
A VNG takes approximately 1-hour and obtains more information about the balance system to help identify the cause of dizziness, light-headedness, and imbalance. The patient wears a pair of goggles with video cameras over their eyes. The eyes are recorded for a light bar test, with the body in different positions and cool and warm air going into each ear.
mCTSIB with Limits of Stability Testing
An mCTSIB takes approximately 20 minutes and evaluates the ability of an individual to remain stable and control their center of gravity alignment under different environmental conditions. The test also evaluates weather a patient can move safely, quickly, and smoothly through their full limits of stability and attain a stable position for function at points away from center, these tests can suggest conditions the patient has difficulty maintaining balance and also the likelihood of success with physical therapy for balance improvement.
