Toshiba Aquilion CFX 64 CT
Riverside ’s Toshiba Aquilion CFX 64 CT produces extremely detailed body images quicker than ever before possible. It can scan large areas of the body in a single breath hold. Plus, the unit’s expanded capabilities bring the benefits of CT to heart patients with a host of new cardiac screening tools.
Patients benefit from:
- Faster diagnostic scans
- Reduced wait times
- A “triple rule out” scan for aortic aneurysm, pulmonary embolism and screening of the cardiac arteries that is all performed in one exam
A CT Scan (Computed Tomography Scan) is used to create cross-sectional pictures of your body. These images are far more detailed than x-rays and can be done on any area of the body. During a CT Scan, x-ray images are taken from many different angles, allowing the computer to create a 3-dimensional image. CT scanning is “patient-friendly” as it is painless, non-invasive and has low radiation exposure. At times your physician may want you to have contrast or dye with this procedure to allow for better images. Please notify your physician if you have any allergies to x-ray dye, or any allergies at all.
The CT scanner is located in Riverside Medical Center’s Radiology Department. You can schedule your CT Scan by calling (815) 935-7531. A hospital representative will inform you on instructions to prepare for this test.
