Benefits of Digital Mammography
Riverside Healthcare provides the latest technology by offering digital mammography that is only available in about 8% of the mammography facilities in the nation. Studies have shown that digital mammography is significantly more accurate than that of film mammography in women under the age of 50 years old, women with dense breasts, or those that are pre menopausal. Through early detection and improved treatments, when women are diagnosed at its earliest stage, the 5 year survival rate is 98%. An additional advantage is that the radiologist can adjust the magnification, brightness, and contrast much like you can with your digital camera versus a film camera. Today's mammography exams produce higher quality pictures with very low radiation doses.
