Caring for Challenging Girls
The Chrysalis Program – Special Treatment Unit for Girls at Riverside Medical Center is designed to understand and accommodate the distinct differences between males and females. This highly specialized treatment unit is specifically designed for:
Girls who currently reside in a Residential Treatment Center or a Group Home setting
Girls who currently reside in the community and have an extensive history of psychiatric issues and previous hospitalizations.
- Individual, group and family counseling sessions
- Parent or caregiver education and support meetings
- Continuing education and on-site classroom instruction
- Follow-up contact, after discharge, to assist in successful community reintegration
The unit's intensive level of care provides psychiatric, behavioral and medical stabilization for girls struggling with severe emotional and behavioral difficulties. Our experienced and professional staff is committed to effectively managing and treating the most challenging youth, by partnering with clients through relationally-based techniques. Gender specific treatment occurs within a safe, respectful environment, in which girls begin to practice healthier choices and decisions.
Our specially trained staff is dedicated to providing outstanding communication and open dialogue with all involved parties. Treatment is based upon each girl's individual needs in collaboration with the patient, family members and other caregivers involved. Frequent communication with referral sources is utilized to best meet the girl's needs.
