Upcoming CPE Programs at Riverside Medical Center
Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) for Level I and Level II is offered at RMC, which is accredited with the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) as a CPE Center. CPE is an action/reflection process of theological education grounded in a person-centered approach to pastoral ministry. As a member of an interdisciplinary health care team, the student’s education experience involves providing pastoral care to patients, families and staff.
This full-year stipend program is designed for individuals pursuing education to develop evidence-based clinical skills as a professional chaplain. The residency is intended to prepare for board certification as a chaplain through the incorporation of the standards and outcomes of ACPE along with an understanding of the BCCI outcomes of APC. Residents usually have already completed one unit of CPE before applying. Residents complete three units of CPE during the program.
The stipend for August 27, 2018 – August 24, 2019* is $32,000.00, plus full benefits and vacation days. Fees: $200.00/unit.
This 21-week program is primarily designed for individuals who need to work a full-time job while also developing evidence-based clinical skills as a professional chaplain. The unit is intended to be a building block in one’s preparation for board certification as a chaplain. The standards and outcomes of ACPE, along with an understanding of the BCCI outcomes of APC, are incorporated together. Fees: $50.00 Application (returned if student is not accepted into the unit), and $500.00 per unit.
