Riverside Healthcare works with Associates of Integrated Medicine (AIM) hospitalists group to provide in-patient hospital care as part of Riverside's hospitalist program.
Based in the Chicago area, the AIM hospitalists are a well-established group with board certified physicians in Internal Medicine and Family Medicine. Working alongside Riverside's providers, clinicians and care teams, AIM provides inpatient care while emphasizing teamwork, leadership and commitment to patients.
Hospitalists are on-site 24 hours as day, seven days a week and communicate regularly with primary care physicians, nursing staff, emergency department and other hospital personnel to provide admitted patients with coordinated, ongoing and immediate care.
Hospitalists are board-certified physicians, most commonly internists, specializing in the practice of hospital medicine. They work with primary care providers and see patients who have been admitted to the hospital.
Today, many primary care providers or family physicians consult with hospitalists to care for their patients when the patient is admitted to the hospital. They focus strictly on your care while you are in the hospital. This in turn makes your family physician more available to you in the office, rather than splitting time between the office and the hospital.
A hospitalist program has been in use at Riverside for over a decade to continually improve the quality of care provided for patients at Riverside Medical Center.
In addition to the existing AIM in-patient hospitalist program, Riverside also has a team of around-the-clock in-patient pediatric hospitalists from Comer's Children Hospital through its partnership with University of Chicago Medicine and a Neurohospitalist program in place to assist the neurologists and other physicians in delivering the highest quality care to patients at all times.
