What's next in medicine? In the healthcare community, we’re constantly asking this question. And at Riverside, we're always seeking to answer it. It’s forward thinking like this that's led us to be truly progressive—adding new services, programs and technology that are revolutionizing the way patients are cared for.
Our new state-of-the-art Riverside Healthcare Bourbonnais Campus is home to a new Cancer Institute, Women's Center, Imaging Center, and an Outpatient Surgery Center. The latest addition to Riverside's cancer care is the Betty Burch Bridgewater Center for Radiation Therapy. Patients undergoing radiation therapy here receive treatment from the world's most advanced linear accelerator in an environment designed with the input of cancer patients to meet their specific needs.
Riverside offers the area's most advanced diagnostic equipment and the latest technology. In fact, Riverside is one of only a few hospitals in the country with an open-bore MRI, which provides greater patient comfort and produces higher-quality images. The da Vinci surgical robot at Riverside is making surgery much easier for many patients by allowing physicians to perform major operations through tiny incisions. The new robotic system is one of a select few in Illinois and is being used in urological procedures, general surgery and heart bypass surgery. Plus, Riverside has the latest ultrasound equipment capable of producing 3-D and 4-D images, as well as digital mammography with CAD.
With these leading-edge capabilities and our focus on personalized care and convenience, there is little reason to go elsewhere. I invite you to visit Riverside Medical Center and see where medicine is going next.
