Foundation Hosts Highest Number of Golfers in 39 Year Pro-Am History
Kankakee, IL (June 8, 2016) – Riverside Foundation’s 39th annual Pro-Am Golf Tournament was held Friday, June 3, 2016, at the Kankakee Country Club. Over $157,000 was raised to benefit prostate health at Riverside.The event was highly successful, with the most golfers the tournament has ever seen. 130 golfers and 31 golf professionals joined the Riverside Foundation for a beautiful day on the course. After golf, the event continued at the 19th Hole Reception. There, the Legacy Award, which honors one long-time golf participant and one long-time golf professional, was given. This year’s Legacy Award was named for the late Harry Fitzgerald, who received the first ever Legacy Player award last year. Jim Bridgewater, who has played in all 39 Pro-Am tournaments, received the Legacy Player award, and Flagg Creek Golf professional Billy Rosinia was awarded the Legacy Professional award for his long-time involvement with the event.
The Riverside Foundation is grateful for all who participated and helped make this event a success. The 40th annual Pro-Am Golf Tournament will take place Friday, June 2, 2017.
