About this event
Connect with others and share coping and support strategies in our welcoming support group. On the first Tuesday of the month, patients, caregivers, and community members are invited to sit with Riverside Cancer Institute social workers Kristie and Molly to discuss various topics relating to cancer care.What to Expect
This support group, featuring guided conversations, is designed to provide a safe space for sharing coping skills, resources, and normalization of experiences. Guided conversations will include:
- The emotional rollercoaster (fear, anxiety, hope)
- Practical challenges (side effects, communication with doctors, work-life balance, nutrition, body image and changes)
- Survivorship concerns (recurrence fears, long-term effects, identity)
- End-of-life issues
What You'll Experience
- Friendly, supportive environment
- Interactive discussions with oncology social workers
- Practical tips you can use at home
- Connection with others sharing similar experiences
- A comfortable setting
- Opportunity to ask questions and get expert answers
