About this event

Taking Flight is presented by Riverside Rehabilitation and Therapy.

Taking Flight is an event to help individuals with physical or developmental disabilities, those living with or recovering from neurological conditions, or anyone who has anxiety about the airport and flight experience due to any other mental or physical condition.

During this event, participants will have the opportunity to practice navigating different elements of air travel, including ticketing, packing baggage, going through security, interacting with gate agents, and boarding a plane.

Attendees must register for a 20-minute slot and arrive to the hangar on time in order to participate.

This event has been generously supported by D14 Aviation and Lewis University.

Directions

From Kankakee/I-57:

  1. Head south on S Schuyler Rd/US-52 S
  2. Turn left onto E 4000 S Rd
  3. Take the second left off of E 4000 S Rd toward Greater Kankakee Airport
  4. D14 Aviation will be on the left, just before the Airport Terminal
  5. Parking is available in front of the Airport Terminal
