Riverside Senior Life Communities has partnered with the Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association to bring educational programing about Alzheimer's to the area.

Riverside Senior Life Communities has partnered with the Alzheimer’s Association to provide educational learning opportunities on a variety of topics. Registration for these free events is encouraged but not required to attend.

Understanding & Responding to Dementia Related Behaviors

Behavior is a powerful form of communication and is one of the primary ways for people with dementia to communicate their needs and feelings as the ability to use language is lost. However, some behaviors can present real challenges for caregivers to manage. Join us to learn to decode behavioral messages, identify common behavior triggers, and learn strategies to help intervene with some of the most common behavioral challenges of Alzheimer’s disease.

Alzheimer Awareness Presentation & Advancing the Science

This presentation provides a brief overview of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and the Alzheimer’s Association services. Topics include the impact of Alzheimer’s, risk factors, warning signs and how others
can join the fight against the disease. Also covered includes Advancing the Science: “The Latest in Alzheimer’s and Dementia where participants learn more about the science of dementia, the impact of Alzheimer’s disease, and the latest in research, including new studies that highlight the importance of lifestyle in reducing the risk of developing dementia.
