About Me

Katie Van Hoveln, NP-C, is a family medicine provider in Watseka who cares for children and adults, with a strong connection to the local community.

A medical emergency on a high school trip first showed me the kind of nurse I wanted to become. A nurse stayed by my side and made me feel safe when my family was not there. Later, working in my own community made me want to become a nurse practitioner. "I wanted to work in my community." I grew up nearby, and it matters to me that patients see someone who understands the people and place they call home. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago and my Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from the University of St. Francis. I am certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. My care includes family medicine for children and adults. I want patients to feel known, respected and confident that their care is rooted in genuine understanding.
