About Me

Laura Redenius, FNP-BC, is a family medicine provider in Bourbonnais who cares for children and adults, with focus on listening, prevention and chronic condition support.

Growing up, I spent a lot of time in hospitals while my dad recovered from back surgeries and while I went through cancer treatment as a child. Riverside Medical Center is where I was diagnosed, and it became the place I hoped to return to one day. That experience shaped how I care for people. "A patient feels like they’ve been listened to." That is what a great day at work looks like to me. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Frontier Nursing University and my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Governors University. I am certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. My care includes family medicine for all ages, well-child visits, high blood pressure, diabetes and other ongoing health concerns. I want patients to feel encouraged, informed and supported as they take ownership of their health.

With my current situation & health issues, I've often felt dismissed when it came to figure out the cause. That was the exact opposite of the visit I had with Laura. Laura is a fantastic provider. She takes her time with me making sure my medical history is up to date and a complete health assessment in discussion and examination. She never rushes through the visit like a lot of other providers and is genuinely concerned for her patient. I don't feel like a number or dollar sign when I visit her. She is thorough and makes sure to follow up on details from previous visits.
