About Me
Dr. Suleiman is an internal medicine doctor in Kankakee who cares for adults and older adults, with focus on dementia, diabetes and medication complexity.
I practice internal medicine with added training in geriatrics because it lets me understand many parts of a patient’s health. I want patients to feel they can call me their doctor, not just one specialist among many. My approach is to build a plan with the patient, explain the information and support active choices. "I like to empower my patients." I earned my medical degree from the University of Ilorin College of Medicine, completed internship and residency training at Harlem Hospital Center and completed fellowship training at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. My clinical focus includes care for older adults, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, polypharmacy, high blood pressure, diabetes and physical examinations. I also believe good care coordination helps older adults and families feel more confident about treatment decisions. I work to make complex medical information understandable for patients and families who need clear guidance.
