About Me

Tara Campo, FNP-C, is a family medicine provider in Coal City who cares for adults, with focus on high blood pressure, diabetes and weight management.

I chose nursing because I wanted to care for people, but the nursing framework also shaped me. Nursing is both science and art: knowing how disease works while showing compassion and respect. My philosophy is simple: health promotion, disease prevention and patient engagement. "Patients can do a lot for themselves." I earned my Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from the University of St. Francis College of Nursing and am board certified as a family nurse practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. My clinical focus includes high blood pressure, diabetes, weight management, sleep disorders and care for older adults. I also see patients for physical examinations and adult medicine needs. I try to pair medical knowledge with empathy so patients feel respected while working toward realistic goals. I believe patients do best when they understand the plan and feel part of the process.

Tara Campo is very easy to talk to and always gives me her full attention. We always have a lot of stuff to cover because she is my main GP . We go over my list of Doctors I have seen since my last visit make sure she has all test results. How my chronic issues have gotten better or worse when I'm doing to help to fix them or if we've come up with why they're happening. As you can tell we have a lot of ground to cover when I come in. And normally the beginning of the year there's lots of things we have to go over.
