About Me

My goal is to help my patients have a good recovery from stroke and to educate patients on stroke prevention.Dr. Dodt is currently Medical Director of Riverside Medical Center's Primary Stroke Center. He earned his medical degree and completed his residency at Indiana University. Dr. Bruce Dodt, a Board-Certified MD, specializes in neurology. He is a member of the American Academy of Neurology. Dr. Dodt practices medicine in Kankakee and Watseka, IL.

Dr. Dodt has done an excellent job in handling my condition over the years he has treated me. I feel at home when being in Dr Dodt's office, feel safe and well cared for. He genuinely cares about my progress and how I am feeling.

He ordered test last time I was there and was not aware of it. Was going to order them again. Was not sure what I was there for what the problem was. What he sent me for several test for the last time and I was hoping for answers.

Doctor seemed rushed this day, didn't explain any potential differential diagnosis, asked a couple questions and left. Also missed things that I brought up, in his treatment notes. Entire things I was concerned about, were left out of his notes.

Dr Dodt and his staff always provide a good check up and show concern in how I am doing.

Dr. Dodt has been my neurologist for several years, but he never remembers me or the details of my medical history. Instead of reading up beforehand, he sat with his back to me in silence for about 10 minutes to read up my history on the computer. This was incredibly uncomfortable and frustrating. He also asked me three specific questions two times each during this visit, and when I gave two different answers to one of the repeated questions, he did not clock it. I am in a good place with my disease and just need maintenance; if I were experiencing changes or needed nuanced care, I would never recommend Dr. Dodt.

Lack of face contact and focusing mostly on the computer. No follow up thoughts on my ongoing loss of balance and difficulty walking along with unexplained falls. Very uninterested and vague
