A Message from Janaki Natarajan, MD:

I began my medical training in internal medicine and pediatrics, but I was drawn to physical medicine and rehabilitation because of my love for neurology and understanding “how the body functions—our muscle and nerve connection.” I also value the hands-on, procedural side of this specialty. Over time, I developed a special focus on treating pelvic pain in both men and women. After experiencing pelvic pain myself, I saw that it was a gap in medicine and that better treatment options were needed. That realization turned into a true passion for my work. I earned my medical degree from the University of Missouri–Kansas City and completed my residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Kansas. I am board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. A good day for me is helping relieve pain while also restoring function, so patients can return to the activities they love.
