First Baby of 2018

Iris Analia Ramirez was the first baby born in 2018 at Riverside Medical Center and in Kankakee County, coming into the world at 8:04 a.m. Iris was born to Fabiola Baez and Alejandro Ramirez of Kankakee, IL. Along with her parents, she joins her big brother, Ivan, who is three. At birth, Iris was 20 inches in length and weighed 6 pounds 9 ounces.




As the first baby of 2018, Iris and her family were presented with a basket of goodies from the Riverside Market Place Gift Shop. Congratulations to Iris and her family!

To honor every organ or tissue donation occurs at Riverside, the hospital will be lit green and purple in commemoration of the gift made by the donor. Additionally, a Gift of Hope flag will be flown outside the medical center before being given to the family of the donor.
