Inclusion & Belonging

Riverside Healthcare is committed to creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture for our staff and the communities we serve. Respect for human dignity has been central to our core values since the beginning. As an organization, we want to build upon a foundation of fairness and compassion. To ensure we remain true and committed to this important work, we established a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion governance committee that engages staff across all levels and departments of the organization to develop and sustain our DEI strategy and annual goals.

How Riverside defines Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:

Diversity means embracing and respecting all the differences of the communities we serve, including, but not limited to, race, ethnicity, gender, age, socioeconomic status, veteran status, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, geographic distribution, physical ability, and language.

Equity is providing equal access to remarkable care, opportunities, and resources to every individual who comes through our doors.

Inclusion is acknowledging and accepting differences to build a welcoming, supportive culture where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

Employee Inclusion & Belonging Initiatives

Cultural recognition and celebrations to help employees feel more engaged, valued, and included. Riverside acknowledges cultural celebration months throughout the year by providing specialty menus in the staff cafeteria, displaying celebratory messages on screens and signage within our facilities, and providing learning and training resources in communications to staff.

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) for employees looking to connect with other members of their communities or learn and grow in their support of those communities. Existing ERGs include those for the Black/African-American, Hispanic, LGBTQ+, and Veteran communities, but others may be established in the future. ERGs are staff-led, meet independently, and include opportunities for social connection, community service, and peer support.

Supplier Diversity Commitment

Phil Kambic

Riverside Healthcare is committed to working with a wide range of diverse business owners across our continuum. We believe that business practices like this strengthen the diverse and changing fabric of the business community in the communities we serve. We encourage qualified small businesses and those owned by ethnic and racial minorities, women, military veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals with disabilities to participate in our purchasing, proposal, and bidding processes. We look forward to growing our business relationships with vendors who quickly become our partners in our mission.
