2026 Samaritan Reception

Join us for an evening of thanks in the Riverside Reflection Garden. We're celebrating the Samaritan Society members whose generosity helps keep remarkable care right where you live.

Online RSVP opens soon. In the meantime, call the Foundation office and we'll add you to the list.

Rain date: Thursday, September 17. This is an outdoor event. If the weather doesn't cooperate on September 15, we'll hold the reception on September 17 from 5–7 p.m. instead. We'll contact everyone who sent an RSVP and post the update on this page.


Event Details

Where is the Reflection Garden?

The Reflection Garden is behind Riverside Medical Center, on the east side of the hospital between the building and the Kankakee River.

Where can I park?

Parking is available in the North End Garage at Riverside Medical Center. Need to park closer? Call the Foundation office at (815) 933-7799 and we'll help you find the best spot.

Will there be a program?

Yes. A short program begins at 6 p.m. Riverside President and CEO Phil Kambic will honor the 2026 Samaritan of the Year. You can read about past honorees on our Samaritan of the Year page.

What should I wear?

Wear whatever feels comfortable. This is an outdoor event, so casual attire is encouraged. Jeans and work clothes are welcome.

Will there be seating?

Yes. Tents with tables and chairs will be set up, along with standing room and high-top tables.

Who can attend?

This is an adult-only event, by invitation. Members of the 2026 Samaritan Society who give $500 or more receive an invitation for two. Leadership-level donors and above ($1,000+) may bring two additional guests. The fair market value is $20 per attendee.

Will food and drinks be served?

Yes. Crème of the Crop Food Truck will serve appetizers from the truck and from tables placed around the garden. Bar service will be available, along with other food, drink and dessert favorites.
