A Prescription to Read
At each Riverside pediatric clinic, our physicians “prescribe” daily reading and present every child—from six months through age five—with a new, developmentally appropriate book. Families leave with simple tips to make reading aloud a happy, healthy habit.
Reach Out & Read jump-starts language skills and school readiness, especially for children in low-income households. Last year alone, your generosity placed more than 8,000 books into little hands across Kankakee County.
