Visitor Information
We welcome visitors as partners in care. Your presence supports the healing process, and we want your visit to be as smooth as possible.
General Visiting Guidelines
Visiting hours are 6:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m. daily. Up to four visitors may be present at a time, depending on the patient’s situation. All visitors must check in with a Lobby Attendant and wear a visitor pass throughout their stay. Please remain in the patient’s room or designated waiting areas.
Labor & Delivery
Two alternating visitors, in addition to the mother’s significant other, are welcome during labor, delivery, and recovery. One designated visitor is permitted for outpatient testing.
Cesarean births & recovery: Only the father of the baby or a designated support person is allowed in the operating room and during recovery.
Post-partum/OB unit: Visitors, including the newborn's siblings, are welcome during regular hours.
Intermediate care nursery: Only the mother and designated support person may visit. Identification bands are verified at each visit.
Emergency Department
Visitors may be limited when there is a concern for the safety of the patient, other patients, or staff.
Pediatrics
Up to two visitors are welcome in the procedural care department to sit with a patient before and after a procedure.
Procedures & Surgery
One adult designated visitor may sit with a patient before and after a procedure. Two adult visitors are welcome in the surgical waiting room during a procedure.
Overnight Stays
Two visitors are welcome to stay overnight. Exceptions can be made by the care team based on the patient’s condition or circumstances.

Riverside Medical Center is located at 350 N. Wall Street in Kankakee is at the intersection of Wall Street and Butterfield Trail.
Campus Entrances
- Main Entrance (P Lobby): Primary entrance for outpatient visits, located at the Pavilion with direct access to the coffee shop and registration.
- A Entrance (South): Access to patient rooms via the A Elevators. Use this entrance for inpatient visits.
- B Entrance (North): Connects to the B Lobby, Lab, and Medical Records.
- C Entrance: Direct access to the Heart & Vascular Institute and C Wing offices.
- Emergency Department: Ambulance and walk-in entrance available 24/7.
Finding Your Room
- Rooms starting with A: Take the A Elevator to the appropriate floor and follow the signs.
- Rooms starting with E: Take the A Elevator to the 3rd floor. Follow signs to ICU or Ortho/Neuro.
On Campus
- Free parking garages at the Pavilion (P Garage) and C Wing (C Garage).
- Coffee shops in the Pavilion Lobby and A Lobby.
- Cafeteria located on the ground floor between A and B Wings.
- Gift shop near the A Lobby.
- Chapel available for quiet reflection near the A Lobby.
